The loss of vision need not mean the loss of independence and the satisfaction that comes from maintaining a home, moving about safely in the community, and enjoying a hobby or creative outlet. Certified and experienced instructors teach adaptive techniques for safely accomplishing all of these important life activities as well as adaptive computer usage for home or work. Ceramics and art classes, as well as other recreational activities, are offered on a regular basis in our Cincinnati office.
Our Cincinnati Instructional Services Department consists of four specialized instructors. Our orientation and mobility specialist and low vision therapist dually certified by ACVREP, and our recreation specialist holds a master's degree in fine arts. Our technology instructor has over thirteen years of experience in the Windows and Macintosh environments, both as an instructor and user of adaptive technology, with special skills in graphic design, multimedia presentation, and web page design.

Recreation Services
Clovernook-Cincinnati's Recreational Services provide a powerful outlet to support our mission.
Our programs enable individuals to express themselves artistically, share personal insights and join together with others who face similar challenges. Participants in our programs are part of a nurturing, therapeutic environment where they can learn, create and most importantly – have fun.
Clovernook's Recreational Services offer weekly art classes including ceramics, painting and copper enameling. Our classes are open to anyone who is blind or visually impaired, regardless of previous art experience.
Clovernook's artists have been featured in exhibitions across the country and we're now proud to host our own gallery. The Willoughby Gallery, housed in Cincinnati's Procter Center, features art by persons who are blind or visually impaired and art that is tactile, allowing greater access to individuals who are blind or visually impaired. The artwork on display in The Willoughby Gallery is available for purchase. In addition, Clovernook enjoys partnerships with other arts organizations and works with museums to make them more friendly for people with visual impairments.
Clovernook's Recreational Services offers a full calendar of monthly activities ranging from bowling to meals, crafts to audio-described movies and are available at minimal cost to our consumers who meet eligibility requirements for services.
Please contact Carol Friedman at 513-522-3860 or cfriedman@clovernook.org for details, or check our events page for upcoming activities.
